1. Cut width and length from cloth.
2. Frey sides.
3. Sew end to end of cut pieces.

PAINTER’S DROP CLOTH CHRISTMAS PROJECTS

Supplies

— 1 painter’s drop cloth (all cotton) (wash & dry before beginning project)
—1 bottle of fabric glue or sewing machine
— Scissors
— Measuring stick
— Additional supplies listed below each project

Napkins

• Use supplies listed above • Fabric paint • Rubber stamp

1. Measure & cut your napkins from the drop cloth (15” x 19” is the recommended size).
2. Frey all four sides of each napkin by pulling the loose threads from corner to corner until you have the length of
fringe you desire.
3. Sew or glue edges to keep from further unraveling. If sewing: sew a straight stitch around the napkin at the edge of
the fabric (at the frey line). If gluing: place a small dab of glue in each corner at the edge where fabric meets frey.
4. Using a rubber stamp of your choice, use fabric paint to stamp napkin as you desire.
5. Follow paint instructions for drying and setting paint.

Reusable Gift Bags

1. Determine what size you would like your bag. Double size and measure out on cloth.
2. Cut out.
3. Add fringe, if desired, by pulling loose threads.
4. Fold in half and sew sides.
5. If desired, use paint and stamp.

MARINATED OLIVES AND FETA

from the kitchen of Sher Pai

Ingredients:

• 8 ounces drained Castelvetrano, Cerignola, or other unpitted green olives
• 3 garlic cloves
• 1 lemon
• 3/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
• 1⁄2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
• 6 ounces feta
• Crusty bread (for serving)

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 400°. Drain 8 oz. olives and place on a cutting board. Lightly smash with the heel of your hand
just to break apart skin and flatten slightly.
2. Smash 3 garlic cloves and peel.
3. Using a vegetable peeler, remove peel from 1 lemon in long wide strips.
4. Cook lemon peel, olives, garlic, 3/4 cup oil, and 1⁄2 tsp. red pepper in a small saucepan over medium-low heat,
swirling occasionally, until garlic is sizzling and golden around the edges, 5–7 minutes.
5. Meanwhile, crumble 6oz feta into a shallow serving bowl
6. Pour oil mixture over feta. Let sit at least 10 minutes and up to 1 hour.

7. Meanwhile, tear bread into large pieces and place in oven directly on rack. Bake until craggy edges are gold-
en, 5–8 minutes. Serve with marinated feta and olives for dipping.
