CCCM’s Kids’ Church Director, Merlene Steib, has a super easy and fun craft for your little (or big) ones to remind us of the true meaning of Christmas! Pick up your free packet of craft supplies at The Chapel Store today so you can follow along with us.




— Print images (Cardstock is best)

— Cut out images before demonstration

— 2 Craft Sticks (popsicle sticks)

— 8” Narrow Ribbon

— Scissors

— Brown Crayon

— Glue (Tacky Glue is best)

— Tape

— Optional: Embellishments such as mini buttons, sequin, or rhinestones

— Optional: Excelsior or Raffia (for hay)

— 1 (30 ounce) can refried beans

— 1 (16 ounce) container sour cream

— 1 pack taco seasoning

— 5-6 ripe avocados

— 1 (8 ounce) package grated Mexican blend cheese

— 4-5 Roma tomatoes

— 1 bunch green onions

— 1 (4.25 ounce) can chopped olives

— Tortilla chips


— Begin layering ingredients in a 9X13 baking dish

— 1st layer: Spread out refried beans on the bottom of the baking dish

— 2nd layer: Mix sour cream and taco seasoning and spread over bean layer

— 3rd layer: Peel and mash avocado and spread over sour cream

— 4th layer: Sprinkle cheese over avocado

— 5th layer: Dice tomatoes and sprinkle over cheese

— 6th layer: Thinly slice green onion and sprinkle over tomatoes

— 7th layer: Drain chopped olives and sprinkle over onions

Serving Recommendation:

The dip tastes best being refrigerated for 2-3 hours before serving. Use a small spatula to scoop the dip onto a plate to get all the layers. Serve with tortilla chips.
